[a reflective work about numbers]

Numeral Humanity is an in-situ reflective work of the rational and emotional relationship between numbers and human being (or just the composer herself). It was presented as the featured commission work by Hong Kong New Music Ensemble under the theme of ‘GAME\PLAY’ in their 2025/26 season ‘Music as Gaming’.

The composition starts with a sound walk with light design that brings the audience into the world of Numbers, proceeds with a broken-down open speech reconstructed by 4 MIDI instruments (2 keyboards, 2 e-drums) together with a collage of numbers in daily life, and ends with an unexpected participatory ‘invitation’ to the audience.
